Ghost Story wins third place at Woking Drama Festival

The prestigious Woking Drama Festival celebrated it's 60th Anniversary this year and, with £1000 up for grabs in prize money, attracted a record 22 entries over it's two week run.

RDG's production of Mark Ravenhill's sensitive and insightful play Ghost Story, directed by Judith Dolley, was given high praise by the adjudicator, Jan Palmer Sayer, who complimented the setting, the direction and the acting. In the end, against stiff competition, the production was placed third overall, winning the Edna Nash trophy (an award donated by RDG in 1983 in memory of Edna who acted with the group for several years prior to then).

All three of the top placed productions scored over 80 marks which is a testament to the quality of the festival this year.

In addition to the award, Judith Dolley was nominated for Best Director, Nancy Lund was nominated for Best Actress and Simon Waller was nominated for the Lighting Award.
