Congratulations to the Macbeth 2015 team on their success at Elmbridge Drama Festival, winning three major trophies.

Entries may have been down this year at Elmbridge Drama Festival but the quality was a high as ever.

Runnymede's entry was an abridged version of Shakespeare's Macbeth, adapted and directed by Troy Chessman in his first production as director for the group.

Adjudicator Frances Glynne gave great praise to the performance and, at the awards ceremony on Saturday 7th March presented the Runners Up Trophy to the production. She also gave the Best Actress cup to Caroline Ross, as Lady Macbeth and the Best Actor cup to Mark Humble, as Macbeth. There were three nominations for other awards too - the Technical Award, the Best Supporting Player (Tom Hudson as MacDuff) and the Best Director (Troy Chessman). Congratulations to them all.

Winners of the Festival were Woking College with Underground Lovers. As they cannot go through to the next round of the All-England Theatre Festival, RDG will compete instead. This will take place on 23rd May at The Barn Theatre, Oxted.
