Both RDG's productions - Defininitely The Bahamas and The Spasm - came away from Woking Festival with trophies and nominations at the Woking Drama Festival 2014

RDG's production of Definitely The Bahamas was recalled to perform on the (non-competitive) Saturday evening, along with Send ADS and Woking College.

At the award ceremony afterwards, the adjudicator, Russell Whitely, awarded the Winners Trophy to Runnymede for the second year running. Woking College were runners up and Send came Third.

There were also nominations for Best Director (Judy Dolley), Best Actor (Keith Bollands), Best Actress (Frankie Godliman) and Best Supporting Actress (Christin Prustel) as well as a nomination for the Lighting Award. Congratulations to all.

RDG Youth's production of The Spasm did not come away empty handed, winning the Best Backstage Management Award and also collecting a host of nominations for Best Use of Sound, The Lighting Award, The Guildbury Shield for Technical Excellence, Max Usher as the Clerk for Best Junior Player and Nancy Lund for Best Director. So many congratulations to them and especially to Nancy on her first production with this newly formed group of 13 - 18 year olds.

It's also worth mentioning our own Michelle Blake's independent production of Killed, July 17th 1916 under the banner of Back to Front Theatre which included many RDG members. They won the Best Use of Sound and Jordan Arnold won the Best Supporting Actor. They also won the Adjudicator's Award for the Drill Section (coached by Wally Walters). Again, nominations were given to Michelle Blake (Best Director), Gary Griffiths (Best Actor), Troy Chessman (Best Supporting Actor), Marc Anderson (Best Supporting Actor), Julia Stevens (Best Actress) and Grace Santry who was nominated in both the Best Actress and Best Junior Player categories.

A night to celebrate.

All three productions will now be competing in the Spethorne Drama Festival this coming week. The Spasm on Thursday, 23rd and Definitely the Bahamas on Saturday 25th.
